All the local courses are happy to accept non-members. You will need to book. The courses are generally a relatively good standard and you are able to rent clubs at most of them.
Carrbridge
A quirky 9 hole course with some fun holes and great views. They also have some of the fastest buggies ever known on a course. Watch out!

A tight and tricky 18 hole course. And is actually quite pricey.

Kingussie
A wonderful hilly and challenging 18 holes above the town . Welcoming clubhouse
Newtonmore
18 holes on the flat alongside the river Spey. Another welcoming clubhouse
Spey Valley, Aviemore
A prestige championship course close to the Spey. Not for the faint hearted. Take a buggy!
Dornoch
About an hour and a half north, the well known championship links course. A great day out
There are also lovely courses at Nairn, Lossiemouth, Inverness, Tain, Golspie and Brora to name but a few!
