Historically, a planned town with beautiful architecture and protected buildings, Grantown-on-Spey boasts a community owned woodland leading down to the famous River Spey which draws people from all over the world for the fishing opportunities. Surrounded by Highland estates with various outdoor country sports on offer we are also close to a steam railway which will be coming to Grantown very soon thanks to the tireless efforts of the Rails to Grantown group who have been campaigning and fund raising for years to bring the train back to town.
There are endless walks in and around the town and a purpose built cycle trail in the Anagach Woods. There are disabled access paths through the woods too so everyone can enjoy our beautiful area and wildlife can be seen throughout the year.
Grantown-on-Spey is also home to the Craig MacLean Leisure Centre which is open to the public.
Grantown is 9 miles away and has a good high street butcher and a decent Co-Op. It also hosts a great highland games.
