There is an enormous 24hr Tesco situated in the retail park road on the road to the the airport. Just head up the A9 towards Inverness and follow the signs for the airport – you cannot miss it. See here for details There is also a cinema, Boots and various fast food outlets. Tesco have delivered to the house before but if you decide on this option proceed with caution as your groceries may get lost en route. There are 2 supermarkets in Aviemore (Aldi and Tesco) as well as a smaller Co-Op. Both larger shops are well stocked and have on site parking. Aldi is the bigger of the 2. There is also a well stocked Co-Op in Grantown but Aviemore is a better bet. For anything day to day The Spar in the village is pretty good, its also a post office. Best place to get morning rolls – it opens at 08h00 everyday except Sunday.

Butchers/Fish Mongers

For good quality and larger cuts of meat the best place to visit is the factory shop on the Grantown Industrial Estate – the shop is only open to lunchtime or early afternoon so get along in the morning. Great for large cuts of beef or legs of lamb that go well on The Big Green Egg. The produce is excellent value especially when catering for large groups. https://grantsofspeyside.co.uk/

There is a good high street butcher in Grantown that keeps more regular hours and serves excellent meat as well as smoked salmon, steak pies etc called Cairngorm Butchers. It is on your right hand side on the high street by the traffic lights as you head up the hill.

There is no longer a butchers in Aviemore but the meat in Aldi and Tesco’s tends to be very good. There is a good fishmonger in Aviemore situated on the opposite side of the road from the Winking Owl and next door to the post office called Pro Fish www.profishservices.co.uk/
